Meet Chef Tom

Chef Tom Meuleners joins Book Club Restaurant as the Chef de Cuisine. Meuleners, a Minnesota native, began his culinary career at the age of 15 working as a fry cook in a small-town restaurant. Eventually, his passion for food led him to Scottsdale, AZ, where he graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. After graduation, Meuleners headed west to hone his culinary skills at two of Napa Valley's best restaurants, Press & Oenotri.

Oenotri, known for its daily-changing menu of rustic southern-italian, uses the freshest local product available. It was here that Chef Tom ignited his passion for handcrafted food, creating everything from housemade bread and pasta to 20 different varieties of salumi. Later, at Press Steakhouse, he quickly fell in love with their woodfire grill. There he perfected the fine art of grilling steaks, vegetables and everything in-between— learning how to use wood fire to draw out each ingredients natural flavor.

Now at Book Club Restaurant, Chef de Cuisine Tom Meuleners shares with us his extensive knowledge of west coast cuisine. Each dish developed showcases the diversity of ingredients and flavors found up and down the west coast. We're delighted to have him with us and even more excited about all the delicious food that's to come.
